In the 2025–2026 academic year, by God’s grace, we could reopen New Hope Education School. Our school serves students from kindergarten to Grade 9. Currently, we have 169 students and 10 teachers who are fully dedicated to teaching and caring for the children.
Among our students, 116 are internally displaced children, and 6 are children with disabilities who have experienced severe trauma due to the ongoing violent conflict. In Myanmar, the situation remains uncertain and dangerous, greatly affecting children’s education and their future—especially in our area.
Pastor Stuart Curry and the VBS team generously donated long desks and benches, provided each student with a dozen exercise books, pens, and pencils, and also supplied teaching materials and a wardrobe.
New Hope Education School focuses on caring for children in need, including orphans, internally displaced children, and other vulnerable students. Our mission is to provide education and hope, helping to build a brighter future for them. Our students come from both Buddhist and Christian backgrounds. Each school day begins with the Lord’s Prayer. We follow the government curriculum, teaching all standard subjects, and we also provide Bible lessons as an additional subject. Every Friday, we gather together to share and learn the Word of God. At New Hope Education School, students are growing not only academically but also spiritually, learning the Word of God and being guided toward Jesus.
New Hope Education School is a registered middle school in Kalaymyo City, Sagaing division, Myanmar. I founded the school on Nov 19, 2020, with prayer and home tuition, including teaching English speaking and writing and Bible verses in the class. Initially, I started with 21 children. Most of them were orphans and poor children whose parents could not afford money for school expenses. In the 2024-2025 academic year, we can reopen New Hope Education School by God’s grace. Our students are from KG to G 7 grades. Currently, we have 91 students and eight teachers who are fully dedicated to their lives to teach the children. Of 91 children, 42 are internally displaced children, and 6 are disabled children with severe trauma because of the casualties of the continued violent war. In Myanmar, everything is at risk now and uncertain, affecting the children’s education and their future, especially in my area.
The school classes learning start with the lord’s prayer every day. The school curriculum includes all the subjects taught at the government school. Bible teaching is the additional subject we deliver at our school. We also had a gathering time on Friday and taught them about the words of God.
The aims of the school are as follow:
*To provide learning opportunities to internally displaced children and disabilities.
*To give equal education to all children without discrimination.
*To help the children grow not only in knowledge but also in moral character.
*To help and mold orphans and needy children.
*To equip young people with good education, with the words of God and assign them a mission in the remote area of Myanmar as missionaries.
*Jesus said that the healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do.
